How Traditional Saunas Work
Traditional saunas use a powerful heater to warm a bed of natural stones, which then radiate consistent, enveloping heat throughout the room. Most systems reach optimal temperature in approximately 30–60 minutes, creating a deeply immersive environment. For added flexibility, water can be poured over the heated stones to produce bursts of steam (löyly), allowing you to adjust humidity and comfort to your preference.
